Privacy notice
Short version: the site sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics and collects nothing unless you write to us. This notice explains the rest under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
The controller for any personal data handled through this site is the publisher of Game Atlas Review, contactable at desk@gameatlasreview.com or at the postal address in the footer. We are a UK-based editorial site.
What we collect
- Nothing when you read. The site is static pages. We do not use analytics, advertising tags, social widgets or embedded third-party content, and we set no cookies. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, requested page, browser string, time) for security and to keep the service running. Those logs are held by the host for a short rolling period and are not used to profile anyone.
- The contact form. When you use it we receive your name, email address, the subject you chose and your message. It is sent to our mailbox by email; it is not stored on the website. We use it only to answer you and, if it is a correction, to fix the page. Messages are deleted once the matter is closed, and in any case within 12 months.
- The finder. Your answers on the Find your game page are processed in your browser and are never sent to us.
Lawful basis
Server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available. Contact messages: our legitimate interest in answering correspondence and keeping the chart accurate, and where you ask us to do something, the steps needed to do it.
Who we share it with
Our web host and our email provider process data on our behalf under their own contracts. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else, and we do not transfer it outside the UK except where those providers do so under recognised safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to our processing, or ask for it to be restricted. Email the address above; we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The site is written for adults choosing games. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16, and the contact form should not be used by children without a parent.
Changes
This notice was published on 24 September 2026. If it changes, the new version will appear here with a new date, and the change will be noted in the expedition log.
